COVID 19 PANDEMIC – NATIONAL WHOLESALER OF HEALTHCARE PRODUCTS TO PHARMACIES, HOSPITALS AND MEDICAL CENTRES REQUIRED FROZEN GEL ICE PACKS ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.
Challenge / Details:
The customer, a national wholesaler of healthcare products to pharmacies, hospitals and medical health centres is a current customer of Thermal Ice and orders dry gel ice packs on a weekly basis.
When the Covid-19 pandemic situation occurred in Australia and the Commonwealth Government placed restrictions on the Australian population and business, the wholesaler experienced a high demand for its medical products.
The customer was unable to freeze the large volume of gel ice packs in a timely manner and therefore was unable to meet their packaging and shipping requirements.
Solution:
During consultation it was identified that the customer required large quantities of frozen gel ice packs within a stringent timeframe.
Results:
Thermal Ice was able to successfully assist the customer by supplying the frozen gel ice packs immediately from our cold storage facilities.
Turnaround time from the first point of contact to delivery was within 2 hours.
As a result, there was no downtime in packaging and shipping their valuable medical products.
The customer was so impressed with the service they received, they recommended our products and services to their interstate counterparts, who then became a new customer.
